doula services

Ultimately a doula is the emotional, physical and informational support for the birthing person and their partner(s).

When you hire me as your doula, my care is centered entirely around you — your needs, your choices, and your birth experience. I don’t work for the hospital, birth center, or midwife — I work for you and your birth experience.

I trust in the body’s natural design and the power of physiological birth. No matter where or how you give birth—hospital, birth center, or home, medicated or unmedicated—I’m here to honor your body’s wisdom and support you every step of the way.

Postpartum visits usually begin within the first week after birth and flow gently through those first forty days (or longer, if your heart and home need it). During this tender chapter, your doula’s main role is simple yet sacred: to care for you as you care for your little one. That might look like overnight support, nourishing meal prep, being with babe while you have alone time, a bit of help with the endless laundry and dishes, and guidance through the mysteries of newborn life—like decoding those adorable (and sometimes baffling) baby cues.

Because while you’re learning your baby, your doula is there to help you feel held, rested, and human again.

As Doulas, we do not:

  • Perform clinical tasks such as blood pressure, fetal heart checks, vaginal exams, newborn and other medical exams. We are there to provide physical comfort, emotional support, advocacy, and evidence-based information.

  • We do not make decisions for you. We will help source evidence-based information for you so that you can make informed choices, and remind you if there is a departure from your birth plan during labor.

  • We do not speak for you to medical staff when decisions need to be made. We are happy to discuss your concerns with you, but you or your partner will speak directly to the clinical staff.

  • We cannot dispense or prescribe any medications or diagnose conditions.
