“What is a Doula?”

• We are experienced professionals providing emotional, physical, and informational support during the many phases of your birth process. We start making a plan together from the moment of hire; all the way through birth itself and into postpartum. We work for you as a guide and as direct support one-on-one for the entire birth process.

What are some of the benefits of having a Doula with you at your birth?

• Through pre-planning and intentional meetings the bond you and your doula develop before the day of birth helps you work as a team to provide tailored support which can improve comfort, quality of experience, and measurable outcomes. It has been shown that working with a doula can reduce the rate of Cesarian by 30%.

• By knowing your preferences, doula’s help set your birth space and mood. This in combination with having the additional advocacy of the doula in the birth space has shown to reduce levels of intervention.

• Through support during the birth process and aftercare working with a doula can lower rates of postpartum depression.

• With your doula’s physical support that focuses on labor positions and your preferred comfort measures you are more likely to have spontaneous vaginal birth.
